Good Apple: Mall of America
I know what you're thinking - the Snarky Apples like MOA?!? In a word, YES. We like anyone who's a big effing deal and with the Big Secret Parking Party (#bspp), MOA catapulted themselves into our big effing deal status.
What's #bspp you ask? Well, it's probably one of the best marketing/social media/customer recognition events we've seen in a while. What's the worst thing about MOA around the holidays? It's insanely crowded - both inside and out. So, MOA took a huge step in making our shopping lives a little easier - pre-arranged parking for its Twitter followers! This Saturday, Dec. 18, for the first time ever, MOA is closing the north surface parking lot to the general public - 96 reserved parking spots for Twitter followers! It's like a Christmas Wish come true (assuming your xmas wish is to get close parking at MOA). Scarlet will be there (all incognito and stuff) parking like a rock star - will you? Anyway, we could tell you more about MOA's social media awesomeness, but we don't want this to turn into a total gushfest. For making holiday shopping a little less crazy and a lot more awesome, we salute you! MOA, congrats, you're our Good Apple of the Week.Bad Apple: Vikings' Stadium Fiasco
So, first the Metrodome roof collapsed (if you live under a rock and have somehow STILL not seen this, you're welcome).
After the roof collapsed, the Vikes went and lost to the Giants in a "home" game in Detroit (or something nearby), then there was a brouhaha about where the next game should be (it's some sort of big deal) and then, the Vikes asked their fans to shovel. Yes, shovel! Um, what? Asking people to volunteer (volunteer!) to shovel out TCF Bank Stadium for a professional football team (one that's only 5-8) is ridiculous. And don't even even get us started on this free-for-all ticket snafu. This whole situation is so ridiculous, we don't even really know what to say. For all that - the Vikings' Stadium Fiasco is our Bad Apple of the Week.
