Sierra and I both like Drama, but I'm almost certain that my closet is a little more Drama filled than hers. So, I was thrilled to get a chance to interview Courtney Smallbeck, owner of Drama Boutique. Despite being just days away from Rock Your Frock, Courtney spared a little time to discuss Drama, the show, and fashion in general.

| Cute new kjurek couture at Drama. |
COURTNEY: The store is kind of a mix--local designers, celebrity-crave lines, and just fun stuff we find that we think our clients will like. We are obsessed with dresses, and have become known for them, but we also carry some more casual looks like great knits and denim. If you walk in on a big delivery day, you'll find me and my business partner Brynn blissing out, it's like Christmas every time. We adore cute clothes, and have fun with it. We also make a mean drama-tini.
SCARLET: So, Rock Your Frock, your first solo fashion show, is this Thursday. What to do we need to know?
COURTNEY: Not much--just show up, look fabulous, and have a couple of cocktails (I've got a bar minimum to meet, people!). Tickets are online or at the door.
COURTNEY: Local designer kjurek couture put some one-of-a-kind pieces in the show so watch for those, also the cocktail dresses from TFNC London are TDF. That brand has been HUGE in Europe since the 80's and they are finally granting distribution in the US. I think the line is going to be huge here! I hope so anyway--we've got an exclusive on it here in Minnesota.
SCARLET: Okay, I'd like to ask you for a little advice. I've got a holiday party for work this weekend. It's pretty fancy. I don't want to wear something stuffy, but obviously, I need to be appropriate. Any suggestions?
COURTNEY: It's tough right now because of the short skirt trend, but I've suggested that girls make their fave dress more coworker-appropriate by pairing it with opaque tights. It not only covers you up but if you pair it with a matching pump, it actually elongates the leg as well, which is never a bad thing. Another work party mantra: just say "no" to major cleavage. Obvi.

| D&G Crushed Velvet? |
COURTNEY: A crushed velvet jacket in a neutral shade. Done right, of course. It's way too easy to go wrong with crushed velvet and end up in Glamour's "don't" section.
SCARLET: Anything else you want to tell us?
COURTNEY: My best fashion advice: wear what makes you feel beautiful. Trends are great but you know what your best look is.
SCARLET: Thanks so much for chatting - much appreciated considering how busy you are right now. I'm looking forward to the show.
